Joe Funkhouser is a real estate industry leader. He has been recognized at the highest level of the National Association of Realtors as a Distinguished Service Award recipient. Joe has formally served as Chairman of the Virginia Real Estate Board for over 6 years and member of the board for over 8 years. He was Virginia's Realtor of the Year in 1989 and will be inducted in the Virginia Association of Realtors Hall of Fame as a charter member in 2007.

Joe brings to the Coldwell Banker Funkhouser Realtors company a wealth of real estate knowledge from his experience as a salesperson, broker and Realtor Association volunteer at all levels. His lengthy resume includes service to the Virginia Association of Realtors as President in 1986, member of the Strategic Planning Committee, Board of Directors, RPAC Trustee, Past President Advisory Council and much more. His service to the National Association of Realtors includes member of the Enlarged Leadership Team, Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee,Internet Strategy Task Force, Chairman of Nine Committees and much more.

Fred is the managing Broker for Coldwell Banker Funkhouser Realtors Downtown office. He assists agents in all aspects of the Real Estate business. Fred has worked in the real estate industry for 26 years.

Fred is actively involved in the Harrisonburg Rockingham Association of Realtors and is the past president of the association (2006). Working with our associates at Coldwell Banker Funkhouser we raised funds and built a home for Habitat for Humanity (2006). Fred is a past president and currently serves on the board of directors for the Harrisonburg Lions Club. Fred also worked with the Salvation Army bell ringing this year. Fred is a graduate of West Virginia University,with a BS degree in Geology. He has taken college level courses in Real Estate Finance and Real Estate Taxation and Investments at James Madison University.Fred received his broker’s license in 1987.

DAVID EMSWILER

David grew up in the Orkney Springs area in Shenandoah County, Virginia.  He graduated from Bridgewater College with a BA in Mathematics and received a MS from Madison College (now JMU) with a Major in Education and Minor in Mathematics.  David taught high school math for 5 years in Page County and 1 year in Shenandoah County.

In 1985, David received his real estate license and he has been active in the real estate profession ever since, having served as President of the Massanutten Association of Realtors for 4 years, received the Association's Code of Ethics Award twice as well as Realtor of the Year Award twice. David is presently the Chairman of the Grievance Committee as well as the Bylaws Committee.

David places a high priority on professionalism and attention to details in working with all of his clients.  David's favorite sport is golf, and he lives with his wife, Sue, west of Mount Jackson.

KEMPER FUNKHOUSER

As Director of Marketing & Development, Kemper oversees all of the companies marketing efforts including brand enhancement, advertising placement, and promotion. He assists sales associates with their business and property marketing. Kemper also works directly with developers to create and implement successful marketing plans for their projects. He has worked in a marketing role with company for 8 years.

Kemper is actively involved in the Realtor Association. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the Harrisonburg/Rockingham Association of Realtors, Chairman of the Legislative & Political Affairs Committee, and Ethics Instructor for new member orientation. Kemper serves on the Virginia Association of Realtors Risk Management Advocacy Group and the National Association of Realtors Business Issues Committee. He is a member of the second graduating class of the Virginia Realtors Leadership Academy. His past service includes Virginia Association of Realtors Strategic Planning Committee, Legislative Bill Review Committee, Awards Task Force and National Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee.

Kemper is a 2002 graduate of James Madison University's College of Business.He received a degree in Business Administration and a Major in Finance.

Barry is actively involved in the restoration of Downtown Harrisonburg and has directed the renovation of the city's newest addition, the City Exchange . Barry is also a Virginia Class A Contractor.
